Our server was such a nice guy and so was the Proprietor, Abid Mirza, who checked to see how we were doing. We told him that we had come 4,500 miles for his curry. He ended up sitting down and we felt like being with old friends.
Meli American Bistro - The French Fells Point bistro sweetens the deal by putting its best Restaurant Week Menu forward. Salty, seared beef carpachio made the menu, as did butternut squash ravioli, escargot encroute, lavender honey-glazed salmon, and braised lamb shank crock pot. Again, Meli attempts to include most of its regular entrees. And for dessert? You choose from the glass case of seasonal desserts up front. Not bad from a swank hangout that usually leaves the wallet bare.
The first particular person to appear to when you are trying to find new chicken recipes is your mother. Each mother - or father, if he was once the one that cooked for your circle of relatives - has no less than one chicken recipe that she cherishes mainly else. For my mom, it was once her chicken lamb curry. It was once completely delicious. It had rooster, lettuce, tomatoes, lots of turmeric, and of course a highly spiced curry sauce. She taught it to me when I went off to school, and I've been cooking it ever since. It is a mainstay of my diet.
What you get - Run by a true blue Malaysian, this restaurant offers you authentic Malaysian food and the owner is not high-nosed either. You will find him serving at some table or the other. The staff offers you a wet towel as soon as you are seated and that can be a refreshing thing to use. But once they hand over the leather bound menu, it is sure to read like Greek and Latin to most. So, like we did, you could take help from the captain or the person taking your orders.
Our server came over to curried lamb take our drinks order and we got chatting to him. We hadn't been in an Indian restaurant in the U.K. for 20 years so we wanted to go through the menu with him. He was very knowledgeable and made suggestions depending on how hot we liked our food.
Neither Mezze nor lamb curry dishes The Fat Lady is a club in the strict sense of the word. Rather they are two of my favorite bars that happen to be located in restaurants, really good restaurants. Both of these bars are places where you can sit and have a great drink, surrounded by other folks doing the same. Or you can sit, have a great drink or a glass of wine, and order dinner from the menu to eat at the bar. Don't you love that?
Transfer the vegetable mixture to the crockpot, then pour the wine mixture into the skillet and scrape up any stuck-on bits, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Pour it into the crockpot. Cover and cook for two hours on high, then six to eight hours on low.
